A welcome invite from the NDPS club secretary saw a few of us meet at Caister-on-Sea for a sunset shoot. After a busy week, it was so relaxing to watch the waves come in with very pleasant evening golden hour light as well as breathing in some sea air.
While many members moved up or down the beach, I decided to stay put. This made me look more closely at alternative viewpoints. After getting some initial groyne post shots with the waves coming in, I switched from my 24-70mm lens to the 24-200mm lens to get some shots of the Scroby Sands wind turbines. I also got several shots of a boat moving along past the turbines. There was a period of only 10 seconds where the evening sun was lighting up on of the turbines but I had not got the longer lens on at this point and before I could even think of it, that scene had gone.
As the sun came down, I went back to the groyne posts left and right of where I stood on the beach, and took some more shots. Once again, I could see that a shutter speed of about 1/6secs got the shots I wanted.
In the end, I got a few keepers (some of the shots good enough to be on this website) and had a really enjoyable evening.
