Two trips out for Autumn colours dropped some decent images into the keeper’s bag.
Thetford Forest
We met for sunrise at Two Mile Bottom in Thetford Forest.
Many of my club colleagues started shooting on the main path, but I thought I’d try and explore elsewhere.
My first shot was an ICM zoom burst and I really like the reddish tones of this image.
I grabbed another shot nearby and was enjoying the output from ICM.
I took the following simple shot.
I thought I should try some close-up shots so switched to my Z7 with 105mm macro lens.
I grabbed the following simple scene.
I then spotted this leaf which reminded me of a skull, in a similar way to the tree in Staviton Thick’s on a recent shoot.
I was continuing to hunt around for something different.
I continued to hunt leaves and tree bark to see if I coupled capture anything interesting.
I did finish off the morning’s shenanigans with a shot on the main pathway back to the car.
That was a wrap for Two Mile Bottom at Thetford Forest.
The following week, we had an official club trip to Bacton Wood.
Bacton Wood
Bacton Wood is a standard staple for Autumn shoots and there was a good turnout for this club trip.
We parked up and made our own way into the wood to begin exploring.
The first spot you naturally gravitate to on arrival is the main path surrounded by trees.
I spotted the morning sun lighting up the tops of the trees opposite and grabbed a shot.
I then tried a couple of ICM shots but they were not working for me as they had done at Thetford the week before.
It was time to head further into the woodland and hunt for something close-up.
I spotted some ferns so try to get a few shots backlit by the morning sun, which had risen and was now beaming through the trees.
I got the following shot trying to do the same but get as many of leaves in view as I could.
Saving my best to last, I got the following shot with the morning sun shining on the top of the ferns as well as, once again, grabbing a sunstar.
The sun was now up high and I had that feeling that I’d done enough.
Rambling back to the car, we all had a debrief with our flasks and were very pleased at the morning light and mild temperature.
Until next Autumn.
Onwards and upwards…
