After the recent Hunstanton sunset trip, Kathryn and I decided to visit Hunstanton one afternoon for a leisurely beach walk.
It looked like a low-ish tide but as we got on the beach, the sea was a lot further in than I expected which meant the shipwreck and rocks were covered.
I did grab a couple of shots though, first of the cliff looking South. Well, it would be rude not to…!

It’s always a pleasure to see the streak of reddish colour running through the middle of the cliff.
It was handheld only shots today with my Z7. I had a magnetic polariser filter with me and attempted a slow water shot.

We decided to walk back and North to explore the part of the beach neither of us have been to before.
As we walked up towards this part of the beach, we could see people on spits as the tide was coming in quite fast.
I shot this couple walking their dog and have processed the shot in a high key format.

We could see some beach huts quite a way back across the dunes and I decided to have a go at some multiple exposures.

While I was in the mood for different shots, I tried capturing a shot of shells with a wider aperture.

Wandering a little further up the beach, I quite liked this next scene. The log reminded me of a Cadbury flake and I liked the shapes of the sand in the background.

With an about turn looking towards the dunes, I quite liked this simple scene.

We walked up the sand towards the dunes and through to the other side.
We were greeted by a long row of beach huts and wandered along taking a good Ol’ look at them.
These huts are set a long way back from the beach but the afternoon sun was casting some nice shadows across their decking.

There were also some huts grouped together between the dunes and the long row of huts.

I also spotted these colourful bushes with a bendy path back to the beach.

I walked up to the edge of the beach and saw the sun rays casting down through the clouds, a ship on the horizon and a couple cuddling up as they walked along the beach.

It had been a wonderful afternoon walk, sea air, quality time together, and some varied and casual photography.
I had been thoughtful while walking along the beach.
Recent events have made me realise how lucky I’ve been, and that without luck on my side, I may not have had this experience.
Morbid perhaps, but events like that do make you think.
We wandered back to the car and pondered what we might do for supper.
I had driven here, and was happy to drive back, but en route I didn’t feel too sharp and Kathryn had to take over half way back.
We had a leisurely evening and I felt better once home. It mattered not that we hadn’t got a nice supper. Quality time together was so wonderful.
And with that soppy sentiment, it’s time to end this blog post.
Onwards and upwards…
