It was an early rise to meet a fellow photographer at Gorleston for sunrise.
We parked up on the road near the clifftop and made our way down to the beach.
It was quite blustery which I was expecting from the forecast so the drone stayed at home.
The sea was quite lively so we took our positions and waited for the sun to rise.
My first shot (and possibly my favourite) is a crop of a shot of the waves powerfully rushing up the groyne post.

Shutter speed for the above shot was just 1/3s.
Of course, I had to get lots of swooshery shots and the next one is a favourite due the swoosh.

That 1/3s shutter speed was perfect for the look I was after.
There’s a cleaner and more simpler shot here (again 1/3s shutter speed).

The ferocity in movement of the sea was creating foam which was collecting on the beach so I couldn’t resist trying to grab a decent shot with it in frame.

My wife Kathryn does not like images like this as she feels the froth/foam is disgusting, but I quite like it sometimes for something different.
With plenty of images in the bag, and the sun now fully up distributing harsh bright light, we packed up and walked back to the car for a debrief, then headed home.
No McShite breakfast was purchased or consumed on this day.
Since I was chasing a specific type of swooshery shot, I took 188 images on this morning, of which 94 where initially shortlisted and of those 8 made it to the final list.
Onwards and upwards…
