Another May Saturday evening off club meet saw four of us meet at Brancaster Beach.
About Brancaster Beach
Brancaster beach is a huge expansive beach with miles and miles of open space. There are dunes with Holkham-esque grasses. You need to look at the tide times as it can be easy to get into trouble. Also, the road in and out to the car park gets flooded at high tide so check when visiting.

The car park at this location is very expensive at £5 for two hours and somewhat odd in the although National Trust own it, NT members still have to pay. We all had a whinge about it then made our way to the beach turning right as we walked past the golf club and towards the dunes.
The Shoot
We were sorry to observe such a plain sky but we’re pleased to be out and shooting.
I walked along the dunes looking for a composition which might have that classic Norfolk beach long grass look.
As I walked around the dunes, I spotted some evening light casting on some interesting shapes in the sand, so grabbed the shot below.
I walked back to take a look at some flowers in the dunes and decided to try and lay down and take a shot looking through the dunes. It didn’t quite work as I had hoped but I’m glad I tried it.
The shot of the flowers toward the golf club didn’t quite come off either.
We had all spotted two people walking across the spit in the distance. I got my telephoto lens out and was pleased to grab some shots.
I then wandered onto the wet sand and thought I could get a more interesting shot wide and low down to the sand. By the time, the colours in the sky were awesome.
As we finished for the evening and made our way to the car park, I had to grab these folks who were on the spit earlier walking back to the car park.
All in all, a lovely trip out, sea air, and a wander round a great location at sunset with some nice capture at the end of it.
Onwards and upwards…
