Meeting at 06:00, Walcott was chosen for a sunrise shoot.

We were last here in March doing two consecutive weekend visits, one at low tide, and another at high tide.

On arrival, we noticed significant movement in the sand, which now covers the concrete promenade/walkway.

As made our way up the beach, we were amazed at the severity of the sand movement compared to what we had observed back in March.

Coastal erosion, the force of nature (the sea), and sea defence installations at other coastal locations all contribute to such changes.

We could see the sky starting to develop so stopped to take our positions and compose our first shots.

This first shot has had an attempted hipster pastel edit for which I can only apologise.

Next is a bit of minimalism.

Next are two most pleasant seascapes.

I was glued to this spot, and just enjoyed watching the sunrise emerge and shooting with different shutter speeds.

As the sun started rising quite quickly, there were sun rays shining though the clouds and I grabbed this next shot getting a sunstar.

I finally moved and decided to attempt some ICM shots with the capture below my favourite of the morning.

By this time, the sun was high up in the sky, and the light a bit too harsh to do much more.

We called a wrap and headed back to our cars for coffee and a debrief.

We talked more about the huge shift in the sand on the beach and how different it looked compared to our last visit here.

We left and Ronald forces me to exchange one of his McMuffins for a cash donation to his fortune.

Onwards and upwards…
