Three photographers and I met at Thurne Mill for sunset.
Once we parked up and made our way to the river side, we were quite surprised at just how many boats were moored up.
The busyness of the boats meant a few usual compositions looking across the river were not possible so we set up on the grass bank and took shots of the mill.
My first shot was simply that but I picked this one out for the birds either side of the mill.

I could see we would all be grabbing very similar shots and I wanted to achieve something different so I decided to try some ICM.
We had recently had a presentation of ICM techniques at the club so I had some things to try, but first it was back to my trusty zoom burst method which delivered my best and favourite shot of the evening.

I tried some different ICM methods but they didn’t really work out that well.

And another…

For my final shot of the night, it was capturing something very similar to how I started this shoot.

And that was a wrap.
We had a quick debrief back at our cars and went home.
I was very pleased with my ICM shot and it’s something I’m going to do more of moving forward.
Onwards and upwards…
