The new landscape casuals group I’ve set up was talking about a sunset trip to Herringfleet Mill.
I’d visited here during one of the coldest mornings last Winter, and we said then that this location would make for a good sunset shoot too.
We met in the pub car park as it easier to park there, and there’s a very pleasant walk along the river to the mill.
This was another sunny evening where the sky was plain with no clouds, but we were pleased to be out.
We made our way to the mill and en route walked past what looked like a very promising spot for a good composition which we would return to later.
We first took a shot looking back at the mill – below I’ve compared this to the one taken last Winter in December.
We wandered back up the spot we asked past earlier and set up tripods waiting for the sunset light to show its full colours.
For something different, I decided to put my 100-400mm lens on and do a close up while there was some sun left as it dipped towards the horizon.
And that was that… the sun had gone and the shoot was over. We made our way back to the car park having had a very pleasant and chilled out evening.
Onwards and upwards…
